How to NOT become your mother and become the parent you want to be!
The voice of a parent is all too easy to conjure in our minds, especially in moments of high stress, for better or worse. Along your parenting journey, you might even notice your parent’s voice or their mannerisms coming out of you-! Sometimes it’s wonderful, in special ways they would soothe you or particular quirks that would send you into a laughing fit. Other times, remnants from your parents in your childhood might show up in ways that aren’t in line with the type of parent you envisioned yourself to be, different in significant ways from how you may have been parented. How do you bring awareness to these patterns? How do you consciously adopt aspects from your parents that you appreciated and loved, and let go of other tendencies that may have caused some pain and are now resurfacing and bringing up old memories and emotions? Reflecting on your childhood is vital, often unavoidable, as you raise your own children. Seeing your previous life experience as useful information without pushing it back down or turning on yourself with self-doubt, shame, or fear is an incredibly healing (and often challenging-!) process, one that will inevitably result in a more graceful, loving childhood for your children. This free workshop will be the first step in helping you intentionally create your own approach to parenting, and begin healing your own childhood wounds along the way.
